Chrysler Power Door Lock Actuator
Fix Chrylser power door actuator
A Chrysler power door lock actuator can fail, leaving you with an open door when you think its locked. The power door lock actuator is built into the door latch assembly and must be replaced as a complete unit. The retail price for a genuine Chrysler part is around $110. But you can buy an aftermarket version for less.
To replace the power door lock actuator you must first remove the door trim panel. The procedure varies by year, make, and model.
Once the trim panel is off and you’ve peeled back the vapor barrier, reach into the back of the door shell and unsnap the plastic clip that secures the end of the interior door latch lock link to the latch lever and then disengage the link from the latch. Next, remove the interior door latch lock link and knob unit from the front door lever and disengage the link from the latch.
Then unsnap the plastic clip that secures the end of the exterior door handle latch release link to the latch lever and disengage the link from the latch. Then remove the three screws holding the power door lock actuator and latch assembly to the door and pull it out of the door.
One aftermarket option is the Dorman 931-004 power door lock actuator. The 931-004 is a direct fit for Chrysler part #’s 4575895AA, 4589071AB , 4589071AC
