bulletin #15-0098 applies to the vehicles listed below. The power windows in some of the vehicles listed below may be inoperative intermittently in freezing temperatures with no window. If scanned, they may have no trouble codes. The problem is caused by defective software in some cases and a defective rear door module in others. Follow the test procedures below to fix the Ford power window problems in your vehicle.

If you find no window related trouble codes on a Ford F-150

Ford recommends connecting your scan tool and conducting a self test on the driver, passenger door modules. If you find trouble codes, then this TSB does NOT apply.

If not trouble codes were found and you’re working Ford power window problems on a Ford F-150, check the build data. If the vehicle build date shows that it was built on or before 3/10/15, reprogram both rear door modules (RDM) with updated software. If the vehicle was built after that date, this service bulletin does not apply. Then start the engine and operate each window to full up and hold the switch in the UP position for 2-secs. Next perform a one-touch down operation to teach the module the full travel of the window. If the vehicle has memory mirrors, perform a relearn on those as well.

If you find no window related trouble codes on a Ford Fusion or Lincoln MKZ

Check the first digit of the VIN number. If the first digit is number 3, check the vehicle build date. If it was built on or before 3/24/15, replace both rear door modules (RDM). If the vehicle was built after that date, this service bulletin does not apply. The program the modules, start the engine and operate each window to full up and hold the switch in the UP position for 2-secs. Next perform a one-touch down operation to teach the module the full travel of the window. If the vehicle has memory mirrors, perform a relearn on those as well.

If you find no window related trouble codes on a Ford Fusion or Lincoln MKC

Check the vehicle build date. If the vehicle was built on or before 5/21/15, replace both rear door modules (RDM). If the vehicle was built after that date, this service bulletin does not apply. The program the modules, start the engine and operate each window to full up and hold the switch in the UP position for 2-secs. Next perform a one-touch down operation to teach the module the full travel of the window. If the vehicle has memory mirrors, perform a relearn on those as well.
