Hyundai clicking sound when turning

Fix Hyundai clicking sound when turning

Hyundai has issued a service bulletin #17-ST-002 to address a Hyundai clicking sound when turning. The service bulletin applies to the vehicles listed below with motor driven power steering (MDPS) units. The cause of the noise is a worn flexible rubber coupler. Hyundai has extended the warranty period for this problem to 10-years or 100,000 miles.

The worn coupling is NOT a safety issue and will not cause steering failure. It’s just annoying.

Hyundai Motor has revised the warranty for the rubber coupling on 2007-2015 Elantra Sedans, 2009-2012 Elantra Touring models, 2011-2014 Sonata Sedans, and 2011-2015 Hybrid Sonata Sedans. The warranty is now 10 years from the date of original delivery or the date of first use, or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
