Fix a Nissan Altima Turn Signals Blink Fast Condition

Shops are finding a high incidence of a Nissan Altima Turn Signals Blink Fast condition when the headlights/parking lights are turned on. The turn signal operate normally when the headlights/parking lights are off. In addition to the turn signals blinking fast condition, you may also find that the right rear signal light stays on with the headlights/parking lights on.

Nissan Altima Turn Signals Blink Fast Not a Wiring Problem

The constant ON for the right rear signal is what may lead you to believe you’ve got a wiring problem. The problem in this case is caused by the right front turn signal bulb. This is a dual filament bulb and when one of the filaments breaks and falls onto the second filament, it changes the resistance/voltage drop values which tricks the system into thinking a light bulb has burned out. Replace all the turn signal bulbs and then retest. The reason for replacing all the turn signal bulbs is simple; they all burn the same amount of time.
