What tools are best for bleeding brakes and clutch cylinders?
Forget about bleeding brakes by pumping the pedal. That’s a great way to get air into the system. Instead, use these vacuum pumps. Just attach the Brake Bleeding Tools to the bleeder screw and suck the fluid down.
However, if you’ve done that and still have a soft pedal, you may have to backfeed to bleed. The Phoenix tool shown below is the best way to do it. The tool forces fluid backwards through the bleeder screw. That forces air bubbles UP into the master cylinder instead of trying to pull them down. The Phoenix tool has saved my bacon several times.
