Honda has issued a service bulletin #19-034 to address a Honda Accord No Start P2101 electronic throttle control system trouble code on the vehicles listed below. The bulletin states that the Honda Accord No Start P2101 electronic throttle control system trouble code is caused by excessive carbon deposits on the electronic throttle body.

Fix for Honda Accord No Start P2101

Clean the electronic throttle body. Remove from the vehicle.

Honda throttle body gasket

Spray throttle body cleaner on a rag and wipe the carbon buildup. DO NOT spray the cleaner directly into the throttle body. The fluid can wick into the electronics and damage them. Always use a new throttle body gasket when performing this procedure.

Update the PGM-FI software with the latest release

• Start the engine.
• Hold the RPM at 3,000 RPM with no loads on (no heat, AC, defogger, etc) until the radiator fan comes on or until the engine temperature reaches 194°F
• Release the pedal and let the engine idle for 5 minutes with the throttle fully released.
