Diagnose Cobalt airbag light on
The cause of the B0085 trouble code is either a bad connection in the wiring harness connector or a bad impact sensor. Start by removing the door trim panel on the driver’s door to access the Side Impact Sensor (SIS). Next, remove the console to get to the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM), the airbag computer.
Poor connections inside the connectors are a common cause for this trouble codes. So disconnect and reconnect the connectors at both ends of the harness numerous times to
reestablish a good connection at the terminals. Then turn the key to RUN and check for current codes. If the code disappears, replace the connector. Purchase a new connector pigtail at the dealer. If the code is still present, replace the SIS.
The side impact sensor part number is 15356725
