GM has issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) PIC4661 to address Cranks but no start, no start, P0442, P0449, P0455, P0463, C0045, C0050 conditions. The TSB applies to the following vehicles:

2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu
2005-2007 Pontiac G6

These vehicles were manufactured with a wiring harness that is exposed to road debris causing it to be damaged. If the harness is damaged, it may set the following trouble codes; P0442, P0449, P0455, P0461, P0463, C0045, C0050, along with a crank but no start, Service Engine Soon light, and ABS light on. You may also see a fuel gauge that’s inoperative or erratic.

Start by inspecting the wiring harness at the right rear floor pan area at connector # 413. The harness loops in front of the EVAP canister. It may be damaged. If so, repair the harness and re-tape. Then reposition the loop out of the way of road debris using zip ties. Fasten the harness to the right rear parking brake cable.
