Fix a Ford F150 P2195 P2197 trouble code

If you own a Ford F150 and have either of these trouble codes Ford F150 P2195 or Ford F150 P2197, read this post. Ford has issued a service bulletin #11-3-27 to address an issue where trouble codes P2195 or P2197 may show up when the vehicle is scanned. The TSB applies to 2009-2010 F150 vehicles with either the 4.6L or 5.4L engines built at the Dearborn Truck Plant on or before 1/31/2010.

P2197 Heated Oxygen Sensor Signal Biased/Stuck Lean B2S1

The TSB only applies if you have one of these codes, not both at the same time. If you do have one of these two codes, check the build date: Was it on or before 1/31/2010? If so, replace the oxygen sensor with a new part number 8F9Z-9F472-E for the Left bank or 8F9Z-9F472-D for the rightFord oxygen sensor bank.

If your F150 is a 2010 model and has the 4.6L engine, the fix is a software update. Do NOT replace the oxygen sensor.
