Ford F150 transmission and others

How to fix Transmission codes on Ford F150 and other Ford vehicles

P0750, P0732, P0755, P0758, P0740, P0743, P0748, P0962, P0963, P0712

Ford has issued a service bulletin #09-3-3 to address Ford F150 transmission and others. The transmission codes are P0750, P0732, P0755, P0758, P0740, P0743, P0748, P0962, P0963, P0712 on the vehicles listed below. The problem is caused by an electrical open or short circuit or blown fuse in the battery junction box. But the original cause is a misrouted wiring harness in the transmission. The fuse that blows is usually F21 in the Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, or Lincoln Town Car and fuse F79 in the E-series vans and F-150. The cause is usually a misrouted wiring harness. The service bulletin applies to all vehicles with the 4R75E transmission and vehicles built before 12/1/2008.

Applies to: 2009 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis, Lincoln Town Car, E-150, and F-150

P0732 Gear 2 Incorrect ratio

P0740 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction

P0743 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical

P0748 Pressure Control Solenoid Electrical

P0749 Pressure Control Solenoid Intermittent

P0750 Shift Solenoid A Malfunction

P0753 Shift Solenoid A Electrical

P0755 Shift Solenoid B Malfunction

P0758 Shift Solenoid B Electrical

Start by removing the transmission pan and performing a visual inspection of the internal wiring harness. The misrouted harness gets pinched between the transmission fluid pan and the main control. See the diagram below for the correct routing. If the harness is damaged, replace with part #9L3Z-7G276-A
