Jetta misfire

How to fix a Jetta misfire

If you own a VW Jetta TDI and encounter a P0201- Injector 1 circuit Jetta misfire problem, don’t automatically think it’s a bad injector. Shops report that the most common cause of misfires on early 2000 1.9L TDI engines is a bad injector wiring harness.

To confirm, remove the injector connectors and test injector resistance. If the readings are within spec, check for continuity between the individual injector connectors and the end of the injector wiring harness connector. Make sure you wiggle the wires as you conduct the test. If you see an intermittent drop, replace the entire wiring harness
