Sunroof reverses
Fix for sunroof reverses when closing at highway speeds
GM has issued a service bulletin #PIT5347 to address an issue where the vehicle sunroof reverses when closing at highway speeds. The bulletin applies to the vehicles listed below.
Vehicles affected by reversing issue:
2015 Cadillac Escalade Models
2015 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2015 GMC Sierra, Yukon Models
2014 GMC Sierra 1500
All with Sunroof (RPO CF5)
Description of the reversing problem
If you try to close your sunroof while traveling at highway speed, you may notice that it will automatically reverse itself when it reaches the deflector. To operate properly, it must push the air deflector down before fully closing the sunroof. However, at highway speeds the air deflector has wind resistance pushing against it, making it more difficult to push down. It’s this additional effort that causes the motor to think it’s hit an obstruction, causing it to reverse.
Fix for reversing issue
GM has updated the motor and software to correct this problem. The new part is: ACDelco 23241866 GM Original Equipment Motor
