Fix P0101 code on a Nissan
How to diagnose and fix a P0101 code on a Nissan
If you have a P0101 code on a Nissan don’t immediately replace the MAF sensor. The MAF sensor reports the volume
of air entering the engine and if the reading doesn’t match what the computer expects, it can set a P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem related code. Your first step should be to clean the MAF sensor. See how to do that here.

If that doesn’t fix the problem, check the voltage coming from the throttle position sensor (TPS). The reading should be between .58 to .65 volts. If it’s above .7 volts, that indicates that the throttle plate isn’t closing completely due to carbon buildup. This is an electronic throttle body and must be cleaned OFF the vehicle. Use throttle body cleaner and a rag. Don’t just spray the cleaner into the throttle body—it can seep into the electronics and damage them. Wipe off all the carbon buildup and reinstall the throttle body using a new gasket. Then perform a throttle body relearn procedure.
