How to reset Acura oil light monitor after oil change

Reset oil light for 2006 and newer Acura vehicles

Here’s the procedure to reset the oil light on Acura vehicles

Turn the ignition to position II, but don’t start the engine.

Press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed

Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for more than 10 sec­onds. The “remaining engine oil life” reset mode will show on the multi information display.

Select RESET by pressing the INFO up/down button. Next, press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display. The engine oil life will reset to 100.

Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Note: Models equipped with a keyless access system have an engine start/stop button instead of an ignition switch. Push the start/stop button once without starting engine. That’s the equivalent of turning the ignition switch to position II.

Reset oil light for 2006 and older Acura vehicles

Turn the key to off position.

Press and hold the SELECT and RESET buttons on the in­strument panel while turning the ignition switch to position II WITHOUT starting the engine.

Hold the SELECT and RESET buttons at the same time until the indicator resets—about 10 seconds.

Turn the ignition off. Then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
