Nissan Maxima Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control Procedure

The Nissan Maxima Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control Procedure is required if you replace an air/fuel ratio (commonly referred to as an oxygen sensor), Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor. The procedure applies to the Nissan Maxima vehicles listed below

Nissan Maxima Mixture Ratio Self-Learning Control Step-by-Step Procedure

1 Start the engine and let it warm it up to normal operating temperature.
2 Turn off the engine and move the key to the OFF position.
3 Disconnect the MAF connector. Then restart the engine and let it run engine for at least 3 seconds at idle speed.
4 Turn off the engine and move the key to the OFF position. Reconnect the MAF connector.
5 Restart the engine. The check engine light should be on and P0102 code should be stored in the ECM.
6 Using your scan tool or code reader, erase the P0102 trouble code. If you don’t have a scan tool or code reader, turn off the engine and move the key to the OFF position. Then disconnect the battery terminals and touch them together for 2-minutes. This will wipe out the stored code and all adaptive memory.
7 Restart the engine make sure the check engine light is out. Continue running the engine (don not drive it) at idle speed for at least 10 minutes.
