Honda TPMS calibration — Steps to perform a calibration

Learn how to perform a Honda TPMS calibration

The Honda tire pressure monitoring system warns you if tire pressure is 25% or more below the recommended tire pressure shown on the door decal in the driver’s door area. If you’ve had a TPMS warning light on or you’ve filled your tires, you should perform a Honda TPMS calibration.

Other times to perform a calibration: – When you rotate the tires. – when you replace the tire(s). – When you update the VSA modulator-control unit. – If you replace the VSA modulator-control unit.

Start by filling all the tires  when they are cold to the recommended pressure listed on the door decal

The calibration begins when the calibration is selected through the Multi-information display or the TPMS switch is pressed. The calibration is completed after driving:

Drive for 30 Minutes:
The calibration process requires cumulative driving at speeds between 30-65 mph (48-105 km/h).
If you turn off the ignition and don’t move the vehicle within 45 seconds, the low tire pressure indicator may briefly come on (normal during calibration).

• driving steadily without much acceleration or deceleration) for about 20 minutes.
• Full functionality of the system cannot be performed properly if the calibration is not completed.

1) From the Home screen, select Settings.
2) Select vehicle.
3) Select TPMS Calibration.
4) Select Calibrate.

How to perform a Honda TPMS calibration on a Honda without a touchscreen display

Use the steering wheel buttons to make and enter selections in the Driver Information
1)From the Home screen, select Settings.
2)Select TPMS Calibration.
3)Select Calibrate.

Check method — use to check if the calibration is completed by operating the vehicle as follows

Here’s how to check if the Honda TPMS Calibration has completed

1. Stop the vehicle and shift into P or N.
2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF
3. Turn the vehicle to the ON. Wait to see the TPMS indicator come on for 2 seconds and then turn off.
4. Do not drive the vehicle . Wait for 45 seconds.
5. If the calibration is completed, the indicator does not come on. If the calibration is not yet completed, then the indicator comes on for 2 seconds and then goes off.

The calibration check process gets interrupted if the vehicle moves. Do the troubleshooting if the indicator does not go off after 2 seconds, keeps blinking or stays on when the vehicle is in the ON mode.
