The Hyundai Sante Fe leak recall for a leaking fuel tank is due to out of specification tanks
The Hyundai Sante Fe Recall for leaking fuel tanks applies to certain 2022 Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid (TM PHEV) vehicles. In those vehicles, the fuel tank may be built out of specification which could lead to a fuel leak. Follow the service procedure to inspect the fuel tank LOT code and replace the fuel tank if necessary.

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Summary
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022 Santa Fe Plug-In Hybrid vehicles. The fuel tank may have been improperly molded, which can result in a fuel leak.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 20, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai’s number for this recall is 240.
