Find the 2011 Ford F150 Firing Order and engine layout for all four engines

In the 2011 model year, Ford offered four different engines in the F-150: a 3.5L Ecoboost turbo 6-cylinder, a 3.7L normally aspirated 6-cylinder, a 5.0L normally aspirated V8, and a 6.2L normally aspirated V8. Here, you’ll find the engine layout numbering and 2011 F150 Firing Order for all four engines.

The 3.5L Ecoboost has gasoline direct injection, with a high-pressure fuel that delivers 2150-psi. The high pressure fuel pump is driven off of an additional lobe on the camshaft.  In addition, the engine has 4 valves per cylinder and dual overhead cams with variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT).

The 3.5L Ecoboost is equipped with twin Borg Warner K03 variable-vane high-pressure turbochargers.

The 3.7L engine in the 2011 F150 is part of Ford’s Cyclone V6 engine family, also known as the Ford Duratec 37. The naturally aspirated engine has aluminum heads, dual overhead cams with four valves per cylinder, and two chain-driven camshafts. The 2011 model incorporated twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT). The fuel is delivered via  sequential multi-port fuel injection.

The 5.0L naturally aspirated V-8 engine is part of Ford’s “Coyote” family. It replaced the 4.6L and 5.4L engines. It’s built with an aluminum block with pressed-in cast-iron sleeves. The cylinder heads are aluminum with four valves per cylinder, dual overhead cams driven by two timing chains (one per head), and twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT).

The Ford 6.2L “Boss” engine is a naturally aspirated V-8. The block is cast iron, and the cylinder heads are an aluminum single overhead cam (SOHC) design with two valves per cylinder and a single timing chain.
