AP Racing Brake Caliper Counterfeit Warning For DIYers

AP RACING Warning: Don’t buy a fake AP racing brake caliper

AP Racing has issued a warning to all customers to be on the lookout for fake AP racing brake caliper listings. AP Racing has noticed fake brake calipers in the UK and warns that they’re not genuine.

How to spot fake AP brake calipers

AP Racing produces its high performance road brake calipers in black, red and silver. They do not make them in yellow, yet the counterfeiters offer their fake brake caliper in yellow. AP Racing warns all buyers to purchase their calipers only through an authorized distributor. Also, make sure you check the product to see if it’s been repainted.

AP Racing warns that fake brake calipers don’t meet the same specifications or quality standards

How to spot a fake AP Racing brake caliper

There are several key differences that buyers should be aware of:

The paint is the first red flag. AP Racing only produces their high performance road calipers in Black, Red and Sllver colors, and do not sell them in yellow.

If a seller is offering ‘genuine’ new AP Racing calipers in Yellow, Blue, and Orange, they’re fake. Also, check to see if a brake caliper has been painted over as this is another indication that it’s fake.

Components: On some fake calipers various components are not to the correct AP Racing form, appearance or material specifications of a genuine product. Please remember that fake products will not meet the high stringent quality standards you associate with AP Racing products.
