2006-2013 FRONT Use special tool XZN18-T10162.12 point bolt without ribs, tighten new bolt 148 ft-lbs/200 Nm with vehicle off the ground. Lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 180 degrees. 12 point bolt with ribs, tighten new bolt 52 ft-lbs/70 Nm with vehicle off the ground. Lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 90 degrees. Hex bolt: Tighten bolt to 148 ft-lbs/200 Nm. Lower vehicle onto wheels and tighten an additional 180 degrees.

2015-2017 Tighten to 147 ft-lbs/200 Nm, with vehicle raised. Then turn an additional 180° when vehicle is on floor. Always replace after removal.

Quattro 2006-2013 FRONT AND REAR Use special tool XZN18-T10162.12 point bolt without ribs, tighten new bolt 148 ft-lbs/200 Nm with vehicle off the ground. 2011-2015 FRONT With vehicle on the ground, loosen 90°. With vehicle off the ground and brakes applied, tighten new bolt to 147 ft-lbs/200 Nm. Install wheels and lower the vehicle onto its wheels. Tighten the axle shaft bolt an additional 180°. Always replace bolt after removal. REAR Collar bolt: With vehicle on the ground, loosen 90°. With vehicle off the ground and brakes applied, tighten new bolt to 147 ft-lbs/200 Nm. Install wheels and lower the vehicle onto its wheels. Tighten the axle shaft bolt an additional 180°. Always replace bolt after removal. 12 point nut: With vehicle on the ground, loosen 90°. With vehicle off the ground and brakes applied, tighten new nut to 110 ft-lbs/150 Nm. Install wheels and lower the vehicle onto its wheels. Tighten the axle shaft nut to 368 ft-lbs/500 Nm. Always replace nut after removal.

2017 FRONT AND REAR Tighten to 147 ft-lbs/200 Nm, with vehicle raised. Then turn an additional 180° when vehicle is on floor. Always replace after removal.

Audi RS4 Axle Nut Torque

2008 FRONT Hex bolt M 14: 85 ft-lbs/115 Nm with vehicle off the ground, then lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 180°. Hex bolt M16: 148 ft-lbs/200 Nm with vehicle off the ground, then lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 180°. REAR 147/200-Ft/lbs/NM Always replace nut/bolt after removal.

2000-2005 FRONT Use new bolt or nut. Bolt: Tighten bolt to 177 ft-lbs/240 Nm, loosen 90°, loosen 90°, tighten bolt to 177 ft-lbs/240 Nm, then advance bolt an additional 90°. Nut: Older adhered type hub stamped 8N0 615, apply Audi locking fluid D185 400 A2, or 235 Nm. Newer greased type hub stamped 8N0 615A or B, apply grease G052 142 A2, or equivalent, tighten nut to 140 ft-lbs/190 Nm, then turn an additional 90°.

2007-2010 FRONT Drive Axle Hex combination bolt, tighten to 148 ft-lbs/200 Nm. With vehicle off the ground, lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 180°. With 12 point bolt, tighten to 52 ft-lbs/70 Nm. With vehicle off the ground, lower vehicle onto its wheels and tighten an additional 90°.

TT Quattro 2000-2005 FRONT AND REAR Use new bolt or nut. Bolt: Tighten bolt to 177 ft-lbs/240 Nm, loosen 90°, loosen 90°, tighten bolt to 177 ft-lbs/240 Nm, then advance bolt an additional 90°. Nut: Older adhered type hub stamped 8N0 615, apply Audi locking fluid D185 400 A2, or 235 Nm.
