GM has issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) #06-01-39-002B to address problems with the front blower motor. In some cases in cold weather the blower motor may not run, or if it does, it may not shut off when you turn off the vehicle. The TSB applies to the following vehicles with automatic temperature control:
2004-2007 Buick Rainier
2004-2006 Cadillac Escalade Models
2004-2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2004-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Models
2007 Chevrolet Silverado (Classic)
2004-2006 GMC Sierra Models, Yukon Models
2004-2007 GMC Envoy Models
2007 GMC Sierra (Classic)
2004-2006 HUMMER H2 Models
GM has identified the blower motor control module as the cause for the failure. The problem only happens when the outdoor temperature is -10°F or below. To fix the problem, replace the blower motor control module.
