How to perform a power window reset procedure on Mazda

If the battery in a late model Mazda vehicle is weak or is changed, you must perform a power window reset procedure to initialize each window. Here’s how to do the power window reset procedure.

1) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Press the switch of each window and fully open the door glass.
3. Pull the switch of each window to the manual-up position to fully close the window and keep holding the switch up at the position for approx. 2 s.

Mazda window two-step windows

The two-step window operation is toggle on or off each time you do this procedure.

1) Turn the key to ON
Perform each of the following 2 steps within 5 seconds of one another
2) Auto open the window 2 times
3) Auto close the window 2 times
4) Turn the key to the LOCK position
Start the next procedure with 45 seconds of turning the key to LOCK
5) Turn the key to ON
Perform each of the following 2 steps within 5 seconds of one another
6) Auto open the window 2 times
7) Auto close the window 2 times
